Electric Cooperative Members and Cooperative Living Readers are Invited to Submit Nominations for the
Unsung Virginian Award and the Good Samaritan Award
Electric cooperative members and readers of Cooperative Living Magazine are invited to make nominations for the Unsung Virginian Award and the Good Samaritan Award. Nominees for the Good Samaritan Award must be residents of Virginia, Maryland or Delaware and nominees for the Unsung Virginian Award must be Virginia residents.
The Unsung Virginian Award recognizes dedicated Virginians for services rendered to the Commonwealth in the public or private sector without thought of personal gain and without their having sought or received public recognition.
The Good Samaritan Award honors individuals from Virginia, Maryland or Delaware who have provided exceptional service to others so extraordinary that it is worthy of this award, even if they are already known for their good works.
Nominees for both awards will be considered and recipients, if any, chosen by the awards committee of the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives. Recipients will be recognized at a time and place of the nominee's choosing, typically their hometown.
To make a nomination, please provide the information requested below by November 9 of each year to be considered for up to two additional years. Also, please provide a minimum of two letters of endorsement for your nominee. These letters can be uploaded electronically at the bottom of the form below, or mailed as hard copies to Phyllis Long, c/o Cooperative UV/GS Awards, 4201 Dominion Blvd., Suite 101, Glen Allen, VA 23060. For additional information, contact Phyllis Long at [email protected].
